Rosie Louise

Ah, Rosie - she is the lady of the house.  For all intents and purposes, she is my dad's youngest daughter and don't know I know it.  When my parents died, Rosie came to live with me and Ranger.  Since that time, Ranger has gone to the bridge, Wilson has moved in, Hope came in as a foster and now has a permanent place to land, and I've lost count of how many foster dogs have come and gone.  Rosie Louise is 14 years old; she has every right to be cranky about all this nonsense, but she just ignores it and keeps on going.  She has the best manners of the entire bunch and I think she has enjoyed all the extra company that comes and goes now.  But if you come in this house with paper in your hands, you better hold it high - Rosie will snatch it in an instant and wait for you in the kitchen. You see, we trained her to get the mail and the newspaper.  Somewhere along the way she figured out paper is paper and if she sees it in your hand she will take it, head for the kitchen, and hold it hostage until you pay her off in biscuits.

I'll have more on Rosie later, but here's a picture of her for now.  She taught the younger ones how to trick or treat this Halloween; it's one of my favorite pictures.
