You Can Take Me Home
Every year thousands of
dogs are left homeless, looking for a place to call their own. Some have
been dropped at shelters when their families lost interest in them, some
have been neglected or abused, and others have simply wandered off and
lost their way home. Each time someone adopts or fosters one of these
homeless animals they save a life. The reasons and rewards for adopting
a rescue dog are many; the risks are few. And no matter what it is
you're looking for in a pet, you will find it in a rescue dog.
All the dogs in this video came from rescues and animal shelters.
Many of them had run out of chances at city run animal shelters and were
snatched up in their last hours.
The CARA Fund
has been set up to help rescue groups provide emergency medical care for
cocker spaniels in need. By supporting rescues in this way we free them
up to help more dogs that would otherwise face a sad, all too common
fate.

My thanks goes out to Maggie and Livingston Taylor for the use of
their song "You Can Take Me Home." The dogs were the inspiration for
this piece, but the song brought it to life. Their generosity made this
project possible. I've followed Liv's career for many years and it
was quite a treat to be able use this song in the project. For more information on Liv
and his music, visit his website,
www.livtaylor.com.
It was very kind of Liv and Maggie to let me use
their music in this video and they have made only one request: that it only be used on one
website. Please respect their wishes and watch it here.
(Besides, we really don't want to get sideways with copyright laws; I look awful in prison orange....)
