Some of you may not know Hope. Hope came from the Little Rock Animal Shelter after she was found wandering blind and deaf on the side of the road.  She had been horribly neglected - she weighed only 14 pounds, was blind and deaf from infections, had a respiratory infection and was heartworm positive. Most didn't think she'd survive more than a few days, but Hope, she had other ideas.  Not only has she survived, she has turned out to be lively and adventuresome.

Before and After Pictures

We'll never know exactly what her life was like before she turned up at the LRAS. We know it wasn't good. To be honest, I'm not sure I want to know what she went through.  But I can tell you her days are now filled with love and attention.  In spite of her vision problems, she continues to make great strides in other areas.  She is even over her food aggression.  That may not sound like a big thing, but for an animal who nearly starved to death it's a great achievement.

Hope is not out of the woods yet.  Hope has had to put up with all sorts of indignities and ailments lately and she's faced them with the same feisty attitude she always shows when faced with such things.  In March, we had to have her left eye removed due to glaucoma.  I was worried sick, but she sailed through it and you can tell she feels better.  She is also as beautiful as ever. In fact, she won "prettiest" girl at a party the local PetsMart held just two weeks after surgery. Now that's a diva dog!  She is on the mend from her illness of a couple of weeks ago, but these medical bills, combined with the costs of her ongoing medical problems, have depleted all the money saved for her care.  Please consider donating to Hope's medical care - she's come so far, but we continue to need your help.
